Some 15 French artists are expected to take part in the 23rd German French Film Week, to be held from November 23 to 29 in the German capital, as well as in several of the country's major cities.
The German French Film Week co-organized by Unifrance and the Film and Media Office of the Institut Français in Germany, with the support of Yorck Kinogroup and the Cinéfête festival, will invite German audiences to discover the best of French cinema from November 23 to 29, with a selection of films scheduled to be shown in German movie theaters over the coming months.
Sticking to last year's template, the program can be seen simultaneously in numerous German cities. Berlin, but also Aachen, Bremen, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Erlangen, Essen, Fürth, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Hamburg, Hannover, Kiel, Munich, Rostoc, Saarbrücken, and Weimar.
The 32 films in the 2023 edition, most of which have been screened at major international festivals, reflect the diversity and vitality of French-language film production, and the multiplicity of its genres and themes.
A Difficult Year, in the presence of its directors Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache – as well as Daniela Elstner and Gilles Pélisson (Unifrance) – will open the event in Berlin. The film will release in Germany on December 28, distributed by Weltkino Filmverleih.
A focus on Noémie Lvovsky was also organized in her presence at the Kino Arsenal from November 24 to 29, with the screening of seven feature films and one short.
Among others, Loubna Abidar, Fanny Ardant, Catherine Corsini, Sébastien Tulard, Nathan Ambrosioni, Sepideh Farsi, Gilles Legardinier, Eugénie Anselin, Éric Gravel, and Irène Drésel are also expected to attend (subject to change).
