Biography
A writer and director of vibrant comedies set in the Parisian suburbs, Martin Jauvat grew up in Chelles, in the Seine-et-Marne department—a town he features in his short films and later in Grand Paris, his first feature film, which was selected for ACID Cannes 2022. He returned to Cannes in 2025 to present his second feature film, Baise-en-ville, this time at Critics’ Week.
Martin Jauvat stars in his own films, but he also appears as an actor in Garance Kim’s short film The Eternal City, for which he won the Best Newcomer Award at the 2022 Jean Carmet Festival, as well as more recently alongside Eva Huault in Lila Pinell’s Shana.
In addition to his own projects, Martin Jauvat is currently co-writing Problemos Dos by Eric Judor.
