This year's IDFA (International Documentary Festival Amsterdam) will take place from November 17 through 28, 2021. As was the case for the two previous editions, the event will be supported by UniFrance, which will provide a physical presence for the first time this year with a range of initiatives aimed at accompanying most effectively the French films selected and the participating French professionals (including sales agents, producers, actors, and directors, and so forth).
A networking space, the UniFrance Café—conveniently located in the Groene Paleis, right next to the Forum where all of the festival's industry events will be held—will be made available to UniFrance members from November 20 through 24. This space will host meetings between professionals and interviews organized by the press attaché appointed by UniFrance to handle the films and TV productions included in the festival lineup. Requests for use of the space must be made in advance.
Breakfast networking events will be held in the UniFrance Café every morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. UniFrance, the SCAM, and the Région Grand Est will also host a cocktail reception (the (French Docs Drink) on Sunday, November 21, in partnership with the European Regional Development Fund, FIPADOC, and l’Œil d’or. Furthermore, a number of support schemes will be presented, aimed at production companies of film and TV productions who are members of UniFrance. Details of UniFrance's presence at the event will be communicated by the IDFA and in specialized media outlets.
N.B: We would like to inform you that our cocktail party initially scheduled for Sunday November 21 unfortunately had to be canceled due to recent anti-COVID 19 measures announced by the Dutch government. The UniFrance team will however be present at the IDFA, and the UniFrance Café will remain open from November 21 to 23, at the Groene Paleis, to host interviews with French films teams as well as professional meetings, in compliance with the health measures in force.
