Synopsis
Morocco is experiencing its worst drought in forty years and the country is expected to lose 80% of its water resources over the next twenty-five years. The oases, classified as biosphere reserves by UNESCO, are victims of climate change but also of intensive agriculture.
In southeastern Morocco, in Skoura, Tinejdad, and Tinghir, Chloé Nabédian meets the women and men who are fighting to preserve their ecosystem and keep their oases alive: hydrogeologists, botanists, farmers, herders, nomads... Each in their own way is committed to protecting their environment: agroecology, terrace farming in the mountains, fences to counter the advance of the desert, scientific research, and raising awareness among young people
