Synopsis
Under the Khmer Rouge regime, we used to say that Cambodia was plunged into total darkness. A thick night that erased everything : faces, gestures, images. Like in the ancient tales, it was only the shimmering moon that shed light on the faces and allow to count time.
Following those dark days, it’s now time for the waxing moon.
Forty years after the fall of Phnom Penh, on April 17th 1975, Séra Ing is working on the sculpture meant to be the first public memorial of the genocide. The project encounters some difficulties to exist and reveals the paradoxes of a society undergoing changes. Is it time to remember ?
