Synopsis
A film from the Les Petits Secrets des grands tableaux collection - Season 3
The reclusive Paul Gauguin painted Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going? (1897) during his self-imposed exile in Tahiti, a lost paradise marred by colonial folly. This imaginary pantheon, which he saw as his moral and artistic legacy, marked the entry of primitive arts into modern art.
