Synopsis

This film retraces the artistic career of Vincent Van Gogh, from his first paintings when he was twenty-seven years old, until his death on July 29, 1890. Through three characters (Ellen, a curator, Peter, a film director, and Van Gogh himself), we recount this period, that lasted a mere ten years, during which the artist painted more than 700 paintings. From the Netherlands to Auvers-sur-Oise, this film follows each step of this extraordinary adventure, whose tragic ending often eclipses, in the minds of the general public, the artistic performance preceding it.
