Hamza manages to get news from aunt Aïcha and prepares the children's departure. But Adis et Kerim are against the idea. About
"We were originally due to start shooting in 1992. However, a few weeks before the start date, the bombing began in Sarajevo. It was war. We had to hide to stay alive. After a few months, we started filming everything that was going on around us. Something unique was happening in Sarajevo and the film had to show this, the atmosphere, the state of mind, the exceptional events were all things that we felt we had to record or describe as we were experiencing the harsh reality. Sidran and I spent four months shut up in a room at the Holiday Inn, the only hotel that was still open. But it was nothing like a normal Holiday Inn, it looked more like a piece of Swiss cheese with holes every-where. Today, when I see footage of Sarajevo, I tell myself that we were crazy to stay. It was unreal. We were writing as grenades went off around us and pinned our notes to partly demolished walls. It was like writing about a volcanic eruption from the bottom of its crater." (Ademir Kenovic)
