The World, Marseille, North Marseille, Estaque... Marius and Jeanette are in mid-life. Marius lives in an abandoned cement-works overlooking the neighbourhood. He's watchman there, pending its demolition. Jeanette lives alone, bringing up her two kids on her meagre cashier's salary. She lives in a tiny house giving onto a typical Mediterranean courtyard. Her neighbours there, Caroline and Justin, Monique and Dédé, get it up for her with laughter and ragging. The meeting of Marius and Jeanette won't be simple, because besides the inherent difficulties of their social situation, they've both been wounded... by life. The film traces their rebirth and their capacity to be happy. This popular romance will have a happy end because... that's the way it has to be. The world has to be re-enchanted.

About
"To date I have made seven little films, with little means, about "little people". The world in general, having lost sight of necessity, seems, by the same token, to have lost sight of humanity. That said, I do not identify a more ''elevated'' level with between discourse and narration, between emotion and intelligence, between pleasure and attention." (Robert Guédiguian)
