Alexandre Arcady, born in Algiers, made his name with his first feature film in 1979, "Le coup de sirocco", a tender, comic and moving tale of the exile of a couple of French repatriates from Algeria, brilliantly played by Marthe Villalonga and Roger Hanin. Continuing his exploration of the French community of Algeria, Alexandre Arcady then shot "Le grand pardon" (1982) and "L'union sacrée" (1989), two major box-office hits. "K" is Alexandre Arcady's tenth film.
