Biography

Nicolas Boukhrief began his career as a journalist. In 1990, he created "Le Journal du cinéma" on the Canal + television channel and was its chief editor until 1993, when he became the film program advisor for the same channel. From January 1997 until June 1999, he was the programmer and anchorman for "My Film Club" on Canal +. With Richard Grandpierre, he was co-director of Canal + Writing and, from 1997 to 1999, Eskwad, the channel's production department. He stopped working for Canal + in June 1999, concentrating all his energy on film directing. In the movies, he was Andrzej Zulawski's assistant from 1985 to 1987. Following this, he was co-screenwriter on Jean-Jacqus Zilbermann's film "Not Everybody's Lucky Enough to Have Communist Parents," and Mathieu Kassovitz's "Assassin(s)." In 1994, he made his first feature film "Up Yours." "Pleasure (And It's Little Inconveniences)," which he also wrote, is his second film as director.
