Synopsis
Antibes on the French Riviera.
Three idle working-class lads from the south who live off the dole and their scheming.
When the story begins, these three friends have just spent together another scorching summer typical of the French Riviera.
31st August :
Is it tiredness, the first signs of autumn or the fact that they’re now nearly thirty that the end of this season looks like the end of the world to these three rogues.
The dazzling arrival of Madeleine, will make a dramatic change to the approaching slack season.

About
The sole ambition of "Up Yours" is to film in close-up three of the “ragazzi” who hang out on the Baie des Anges. These penniless young men are trapped between the sun above, the sea ahead, the earth below, the mountains behind and money everywhere. In the strange period at the end of the Riviera season, before the desolation of winter, they need to undergo the trial of a “visitation”, that of a woman (...). If this film is able to show these people of the south in their true light, I hope it will express a certain unease of our times. My unease, in any case, when I return to this region where I spent the first twenty years of my life(...). If this film manages to be more than a fictionalized documentary on a few examples of the Latin subculture, perhaps then, between its evocation of the lost paradise and its concern in the face of imminent hell, it may manage to touch the kind of melancholy that made me love the cinema, made me leave the Riviera and urges me to return to it.
