The 20th edition of the BIFF will take place from October 1 through 10, 2015, with the event's 20th anniversary celebrations coinciding with the France/South Korea Cultural Exchange Years program held this year.
This intersection of events provides an opportunity for the film festival to present a special program dedicated to French cinema, composed of around a dozen modern classics selected by directors, including Leos Carax, who will be present to discuss his films Bad Blood, Holy Motors, as well as A Room in Town by Jacques Demy). Carax will be accompanied by the journalist Charles Tesson and Jean-François Rauger, program director at La Cinémathèque Française.
The French delegation will include Leos Carax, Claude Lelouch, Valérie Perrin, Michel Leclerc, Julien Leclercq, Kahina Carina, Julia Kowalski, Ounie Lecomte, Sophie Marceau and Audrey Estrougo.
A reception event will be hosted by the French Embassy and UniFrance, held in the presence of the French Culture Minister Fleur Pellerin and UniFrance films' executive director Isabelle Giordano.
Around twenty French films will be presented in the three main festival sections (the Gala, World Cinema, and Flash Forward sections). The following majority-French productions feature in these selections:
Gala
World Cinema
New Currents
Flash Forward
Wide Angle Documentary Showcase
Wide Angle Animation Showcase
