Unifrance reports on the festival's 6th edition.
The 6th Helvetia French Film Festival took place from Wednesday, September 15, through Sunday, September 19, 2010, in the Swiss bilingual city of Biel/Bienne, offering five days of French and French-language films. 33 films were showcased at the event, including a host of preview screenings (including Little White Lies, Special Treatment, Chantrapas, The Counsel, Lights Out, Outside the Law, and Donnant Donnant, which were presented in their original version with the majority subtitled in German).
The festival registered a 15% rise in spectator numbers this year. All of the industry guests invited to the event participated (36 guests), with 18 screenings held to packed theaters. All ten festival podiums attracted spectacular crowds. For the first time this year, a Short Film Award was presented in the Discovery Section. The winning film, Une Pute et un Poussin by Clément Michel, was selected by a jury led by the actor/director Vincent Perez.
