The fifteenth edition of the Rendez-vous – Nuovo cinema francese, le festival initiated by the Ambassade de France in Italy and organized by the Institut Français in collaboration with Unifrance, will take place from Apri 2 to 6, 2025, in the presence of numerous guests, again in the mythical Cinema Nuovo Sacher, Nanni Moretti's cinema.
The festival will also be held in Bologna, Florence, Naples, and Palermo.
The program for the 2025 edition includes 14 recently-produced French films, accompanied by an artistic delegation who will be on hand to discuss the films with audiences.
Confirmed guests to date: Leïla Bekhti, Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, Julien Colonna, Frédéric Farrucci, Fabienne Godet, Audrey Ismaël, Emmanuel Mouret, Laura Piani, Agathe Riedinger, Ludivine Sagnier, Carine Tardieu, Pierre Schoeller, and Guillaume Senez.
The composer Audrey Ismaël (Wild Diamond, The Kingdom) will attend the festival with support from the Sacem / Copie privée.
Opening Night
The Ties That Bind Us will open the Rendez-Vous, in the presence of its director Carine Tardieu and star Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi. The screening will be followed by a gala in the sumptuous setting of the Palazzo Farnese, headquarters of the Ambassade de France in Italy. Numerous Italian and French film industry professionals will be in attendance.

Unifrance - Institut Français Italy - Cinecittà professional meetings
As part of the Rendez-Vous professional program, Unifrance, in partnership with Cinecittà and the Institut Français - Italy, will be hosting a Franco-Italian meeting at the Palazzo Farnese.
French and Italian professional delegations will be on hand to take part in four discussion sessions focusing on the situation of film distribution and exhibition in Italy, the Italian audiovisual landscape, the new tax credit framework, and independent production.

Unifrance Rendez-Vous – Milan
Ahead of the festival, on April 1 and 2, 2025, Unifrance is organizing the Unifrance Rendez-Vous – Milan, an audiovisual market that will enable more than 30 Italian professionals to meet 16 distributors of audiovisual programs (fiction, documentary, animation...).
The Prix Palatine at the Rendez-Vous 2025
Presented at the Rendez-Vous 2025, Agathe Riedinger's Wild Diamond is one of three French films shortlisted for the Prix Palatine 2025. The Prix Palatine is the first and only bi-national film award given by high school students in Italy and France. Italian high school students will elect their favorite of the three French films selected in 2025, the other two being Stella in Love by Sylvie Verheyde, and The Quiet Son by Delphine and Muriel Coulin. French high school students will be asked to choose one Italian film from among the three nominated this year.
