Festivals
- Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon (Lost in Paris), Adolfo Arrieta (The Girl Without Hands), Arnaud Des Pallières and Christelle Berthevas (Orphan), Dominique Cabrera (Corniche Kennedy), Alain Gomis (Félicité), Shaden Kanboura (In Between), Damien Manivel (Le Parc), Antonin Peretjatko (Struggle for Life), and Elina Psykou (Le Fils de Sofia) traveled to South Korea, where they presented their films at the Jeonju International Film Festival (April 28-May 7).
- Claire Simon gave a series of master classes at various festivals around the world, starting with the DOXA Documentary Film Festival in Vancouver (May 4-14), followed, on May 13, by the Alliance Française de Quito in Ecuador, and lastly, on May 18 in Tel Aviv, at the Docaviv International Documentary Festival (May 11-20), where her film The Competition was presented.
- Éliane De Latour and Jérôme Clément-Wilz also gave master classes at DOXA in Vancouver (May 4-14), where they accompanied their respective films, Little Go Girls and Etre cheval, the latter having received the honor of the Best Documentary award.
- Danièle Thompson was present in Hong Kong from May 22 through 25 during the Le French May festival for two screenings of Cézanne and I, then in Chengdu from May 25 through 27 for the Panorama of French Cinema in China.
Film releases
- Bertrand Bonello went to Berlin on May 10 and 11 for the German preview screening of Nocturama, which released on May 18 in Germany (photo).
- Sébastien Laudenbach was in Montreal from May 11 through 14 for the release of The Girl Without Hands.
- Raoul Peck went to the The Netherlands at the beginning of May to promote I Am Not Your Negro, which released on May 11.
- Jean-Claude Flamand-Barny and Sébastien Onomo went to Douala in Cameroon from May 10 through 15 to promote Le Gang des Antillais, which released on May 24.
