Synopsis
At the end of World War I, as Italy buried its unknown soldier, the great Eleonora Duse reached the end of her legendary career. But despite her age and fragile health, the woman many considered the greatest actress of her time decided to return to the stage.
Her daughter's recriminations, her complex relationship with the great poet D'Annunzio, the rise of fascism, and Mussolini's rise to power—nothing would stop Duse, “the divine.”
