Synopsis
In 2022, after the death of the young Jina Mahsa Amini, the world discovered an Iranian youth defying the authority of the Mullahs and ready to take to the streets to claim its freedom. Violently repressed, the movement ran out of steam, but the irrepressible mutation of Iranian youth continues.
Through the stories of six young Iranians, Being 20 in Iran offers an exceptional insight into a young, educated society marked by unemployment and deprived of its fundamental freedoms. Using artificial intelligence to anonymize faces while preserving their expressions, the film reveals a generation that is politicized, connected, green and feminist... just like the world's youth.
