Synopsis
Since its discovery, Europeans have regarded the Amazon as an inhospitable area, populated by dangerous indigenous tribes who lacked history and culture.
Everything we thought we knew changed with the discovery of exceptional sites in Colombia and Brazil, presenting superb rock paintings dating back more than 12,000 years. These paintings are the remains of an astonishing civilization that inhabited these lands.
Who were they? Where did they come from? How did they live in this Atlantis hidden in the forest? And most importantly, why did they disappear?
Alongside a team of expert archaeologists, this documentary takes us on an expedition at the heart of the Amazonian forest, in the hope of finally unraveling the mystery of this ancient civilization.
