Synopsis
Built 1,500 years BC on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the Temple of Karnak, Hatshepsut's Temple of a Million Years is undoubtedly a spectacular new kind of temple for Egyptologists from around the world.
After numerous excavations and painstaking reconstruction work, it is now the most monumental vestige of all the constructions initiated by Hatshepsut throughout Egypt. Its unique architecture and its central role in the life of the Egyptians reflect the ambition and originality of the extraordinary destiny of this queen who became Pharaoh!
But how is it different from the monuments erected by her predecessors? What were the new technologies implemented for its construction?
