Synopsis
Cunningham retraces the artistic evolution of the American choreographer Merce Cunningham, from his early years as a dancer in post-war New York to his emergence as a visionary creator.
Shot in 3D with the choreographer's last company, the film reprises fourteen of the main ballets of a career filled with 180 creations, over a period of seventy years.
Employing archives that have never been seen before, Cunningham is a powerful homage to a creator who revolutionized dance, as well as to his numerous collaborators, especially the visual artist Robert Rauschenberg and the musician John Cage.
