Synopsis
Kvadrat explores the realities of a Techno DJ, using as an example the work of DJ Andrey Puskarev, a Russian artist recognized worldwide. Filmed like a hybrid between a road movie and a music video, the film illustrates the festive side to nightclubs, and the less well known side to this profession: weeks spent selecting music, endless journeys, and ungodly hours. Filmed in Switzerland, France, Hungary, Roumania, and Russia, Kvadrat leaves out the typical elements of a documentary: no interviews, no voiceover explanations, no facts or figures. In their place: images and Techno music, leaving any detailed interpretation to the spectator.
