Professional days
Unifrance-Institut Français Italie – Cinecittà professional meetings
As part of the Rendez-vous professional program, Unifrance, in partnership with Cinecittà and the Institut Français Italie, will host a Franco-Italian meeting at the Palazzo Farnese/Ambassade de France.
Eight French producers and a delegation of Italian professionals will be present to take part in three discussion sessions focusing on the distribution and exhibition situation in Italy, collaboration with VOD platforms, and the co-production environment between France and Italy.
Cross-collaborations
The Rendez-vous festival has always been open to collaboration with other organizations supporting cinema and exchanges between France and Italy. This year, three events are involved.
Rendez-vous @ Karawan Fest
The collaboration with Karawan Fest is back. A precious moment to bring cinema to the eastern suburbs of Rome, in one of the city's most multi-ethnic neighborhoods, as part of a young and popular event.
The Dreamer, on the program of the 14th Rendez-vous in Rome, will be screened as part of the next edition of the Karawan Fest, to be held from July 3 to 13.
Alice nella città Award @ Rendez-vous 2024 | First works
The first edition of this award, reserved for first works, is the result of collaboration between Rendez-vous andt Alice nella città, an independent, parallel sidebar of the Rome Film Festival, dedicated to younger generations. The winner will be chosen by a jury of young people aged 17 to 23, chaired by director Laura Luchetti. The winning film will receive support for its theatrical release.
The second Womenlands Rendez-vous Award 2024 will be given to an Italian audiovisual personality who symbolizes the link between the two countries. The announcement of the chosen personality and the activities planned, linked to the prize and the city of Rome, will be made in the next few days.
Prix Palatine @ Rendez-vous 2024
Esabac students (who are taking a double baccalaureate in Italian and French and are aged between 15 and 19) will be the Prix Palatine jurors. Among the six films the students will be watching (three Italian features and three French features) is Jean-Baptiste Durand's Junkyard Dog, one of the titles selected for Rendez-vous 2024.
