Rome Film Fest

    Event presentation

The Rome Film Festival is a competitive festival created in 2006 with the name of Festival of Film. 120,000 spectators now flock to the event, which is recognised by the FIAPF.

Among the fifty films selected, a large place is given over to major American studio productions. Nevertheless, fifteen French films and co-productions receive world premieres at the event, and are accompanied by their artistic crews. The films are spread across the festival's four main sections, including Official Competition and Alice nella citta (for films by upcoming filmmakers). The jury awards films six prizes; the top award is the Golden Marc'Aurelio Award (for Best Film).

Local distributors are involved in the festival in that the offer their films to the festival, which they use as a springboard for later release.

Since its creation, the Rome Film Fest has also stage a film market named "Business Street." Located near the Via Veneto, this market mainly gathers together European distributors and French sales agents attend in great numbers. It now comes at the end of the festival.
