Event presentation
The French Embassy in Italy and the region of Tuscany, in partnership with the Florence City Hall, have joined forces to host a new French Film Festival in Florence. This new event aims to offer audiences the chance to discover the best of current French film production. This project is part of a communal policy to revitalize links between the French and Italian movie industries.
The festival will take place from October 9 through 31, 2009, at the cinema Odeon in Florence.
It will be helmed by Francesco Ranieri Martinotti, a film director, co-artistic director of the "Le vie del Cinema da Cannes a Roma" event organized in collaboration with the Cannes International Film Festival and co-founder of the "Giornate degli Autori di Venezia" event (Venice Days). He also recently founded the Farnese Workshop, the first-ever Franco-Italian writing workshop.
