Once again , French works were widely rewarded at this year's Annecy International Animation Film Festival and its market. A total of 11 prizes were awarded to French productions in the festival's various competitions, including the three main Cristal awards (feature film, short film, audiovisual work). In addition, 14 prizes were awarded to French projects presented at the MIFA.
French feature films were widely recognized: the prestigious Cristal for a Feature Film was awarded to Chicken for Linda! by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach (which also won the Gan Foundation Award for Distribution), Robot Dreams by Pablo Berger received the Contrechamp Grand Prix and Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds by Benoît Chieux won the Audience Award. Clément Céard and Anne-Sophie Gousset's To Be Sisters, took home the Young Audience Award. Among the special prizes, we find Maurice’s Bar by Tom Prezman and Tzor Edery which received the Festivals Connexion Award, and The Purple Season by Clémence Bouchereau, winner of the André Martin Award for a Short Film.
Last but not least, French audiovisual programmes were not left out of the top ten, as the Cristal for a TV Production went to Pebble Hill by Marjolaine Perreten.
