Eden Cinema, the Institut Français d'Israël, and Unifrance announce the 20th edition of the French Film Festival in Israel which will take place from March 15 to 25, 2023 in the main cinémathèques in Israel: Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Herzliya, Sderot, and Rosh Pina. The festival will open with Stay With Us, in the presence of its director and lead actor Gad Elmaleh.
This year, the French Film Festival in Israel celebrates its 20th anniversary, 20 years during which it has become one of the most popular festivals in the country. An event that brings together every year thousands of enthusiastic spectators to discover and enjoy the richness and diversity of French cinema.
17 films will be presented to Israeli audiences during the 20th edition, each addressing issues that affect our time: gender, education, class struggle, and, of course, love.
Stay With Us, inspired by Gad Elmaleh's own story, will open the festival in his presence. The actor-director will also participate in two presentations in Israel on March 12 and 13, before the national release on March 23.
The Festival will showcase the avant-garde of French cinema with five first or second films s (Time to Get Away !, Sons of Ramses, Softie, Houria, and Full Time), and will close with Louis Garrel's The Innocent, a film that is already scheduled for release in Israel next July.
