January traditionally remains a quiet month when it comes to French artists traveling and festivals, despite the starting signal of the year in terms of major film events which are the Rotterdam International Film Festival (IFFR) and Sundance. Maïmouna Doucouré attended the American festival to present her debut feature Cuties, whose screenplay had already won a Global Filmmaking Award in 2017.
