Dirty Old Rascal
Synopsis
Who is Darius Caunes? You can see him as he leaves home, smartly dressed and plunged in thought in a way that always makes him look slightly absent-minded. Like clockwork he heads for the printing works which he has owned for the last twenty years. Waiting for him there as usual is Rose, his sole employee and devoted secretary. Every Thursday he dines with his friend Charlie, a police detective with whom he has become friendly since his wife, Mireille Caunes, was murdered two years ago by an unknown assailant. Darius gives Rose every Wednesday off instead of Saturdays, when the printshop stays open. And four days a month, Darius goes out to do a little shopping around town. He cooks for himself, watches television and takes particular care of his cat - named Mireille, after his wife. The orderly life of a meticulous man. But in reality, Darius is anything but this staid-looking fifty-year old to whom we might mouth a polite "Good Evening" in the street...
