Synopsis
In the heart of the Alps, around the roof of Europe, Laura, Ruth, and Théo, three passionate trail runners, experience the adventure of a lifetime
during the 2025 edition of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.
Every year at the end of August, Chamonix becomes the stage for a challenge deemed impossible: the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc. Created in 2003, this trail running race is the most prestigious and legendary in the world. Its concept is unique: on the starting line, the planet’s top athletes stand alongside passionate amateurs to tackle a titanic 171 km course with 10,000 meters of positive elevation gain across France, Italy, and Switzerland. For 3 days and 2 nights, the 2,300 participants push their bodies to the absolute limit in the heart of the wilderness, set against the backdrop of the iconic Mont Blanc. This documentary dives into the heart of this extraordinary human adventure. Through the shared perspectives of champion and novice runners alike, the film reveals the lesser-known sides of this extreme sport and tells an extraordinary human story. A total immersion into what remains, for each and every one of them, the race of their lives.
