Synopsis
“Looking for Agnès” draws inspiration from Agnès Varda’s 1958 documentary Du côté de la côte and reimagines its visual language through immersive filmmaking. The project relocates fragments
of Varda’s work into a 360-degree cinematic space, stripping
away traditional framing and lens movement to create an image- environment that evokes presence. This journey retraces Varda’s gaze, blending traditional and modern filmmaking techniques to reflect on memory, observation, and the passage of time. By revisiting the original film’s locations, the project contrasts past and present, exploring the evolving nature of cinema through visual tension and irony.
