Synopsis
In 1865, across the ravaged Southern United States, a wounded and disabled Union veteran named Jim Brennan is desperately looking for a war orphan he promised to adopt. The child is the son of an African American soldier that Jim commanded and who was killed in action. As he meets the locals and refugees who listen to his story, one question quickly arises: is Mister Brennan the savior he claims to be?
