Synopsis
Pilar, like thousands of other Spanish people, fled Spain in 1939 to escape Franco's dictatorship. Through her story, interwoven with archival images and stop-motion animation sequences, the film looks back at the little-known story of the Retrirada and the cool welcome France reserved to those who lost the Spanish Civil War.
