Synopsis
We Came West arose from my encounter with Rick Bass's books, then later with the writer himself. From the outset, it was clear that I didn't want to make a film about him, but with him. Hence, it was indeed together, in the Yaak Valley, during various visits, that we imagined this tale.
It features the writer Rick Bass, civil rights activist Robyn King, and Scott Dally, who also wanted to be a writer. Therein lies their story. The story of their encounter with this wild and remote territory: Yaak Valley, Montana. The love they feel for it. The battles they have waged there. Time that has gone by.
