Synopsis
Exiled to the boundaries of the inhabited world, on the island of Svalbard at the edge of the Arctic Ocean, miners, most of whom are from Ukraine, live and work in Barentsburg, a Russian mining settlement built by the Soviets as a USSR showcase. In this utopian town in decline, they are the last remaining survivors of a failed dream. Isolated from the world and from history, they live in suspended time.
