Synopsis
For a long time the cultural and political heart of modern Europe, contemporary Austria cultivates an occasionally radical difference, which its literature grasps, sometimes in a violent way. Josef Winkler, Robert Menasse, and Arno Geiger give their different and complementary visions of a country, language, and history, which are the fertile ground of their writing.
