Synopsis

One summer in the Creuse region at the beginning of the 1980s. While she is on vacation, twelve-year-old Julia spends a day with a friend from a neighboring hamlet. She discovers that the girl's family attempts to cover up that their oldest, eighteen-year-old and unmarried daughter has given birth. Defying the rules, Julia and her friend try to go and see the newborn baby. It is there, a few feet away from the baby, that Julia will feel the sting of humiliation for the first time.
