What does AIDS mean today? For the young generation, not much sadly, whereas this pandemic and cataclysmic disease has decimated nearly 30 million people in almost 30 years. Did the issue fade into oblivion? No, it’s actually become a habit. The bad habit to live with it, to stand alongside it, to be close to the virus, to believe treatments – that don’t save lives yet - make it harmless. Big mistake. So it’s time to refresh memories. This plague deeply changed social bonds. It’s a lot more than just a disease. By its transmission methods, this pandemic has forced human society to rethink its values, confront its fears, its darkness and its taboos.
