Synopsis
It is a love story.
In the heart of Roumania, 450 "little mothers" live in a commune in the Varatec monastery. They are the betrothed, the fiancées, and the wives of Christ. Dressed in black, they have made the choice to banish their bodies so as to reach the state of angels.
But every living body is carnel and sensual, whether it is covered in black, hidden from the gaze of others and from its own perception.
Téodora is beautiful and gracious. She wears these black, rough and shapeless clothes as though she were a princess from the Middle Ages.
Téodora is radiant. She is getting ready for the most important event of her life: her marriage to this lover with no body.
