Synopsis
Zeina lives in Dubai. She's going through a divorce, and wanting to protect her son Karim from conjugal arguments, she decides to send him to live with her sister in Kherbet Selem, a small village in southern Lebanon.
A few days later, war breaks out. Crazy with anxiety, Zeina immediately sets out for Lebanon, via Turkey. But the blockade prevents her from arriving in Beirut until the day of the ceasefire. She encounters Tony there, the only cab driver willing to take her to the south. Tony is a Christian, he lives in Beirut. His brother lives in Israel. Zeina is a Shi'ite. They have nothing in common. But so what. Together they visit centers for displaced people and travel through a country ravaged by war. When they get to Kherbet Selem, they find nothing but ruins. Zeina's sister is dead and Ali, a village boy, tells them that Karim has been taken away by some French journalists. Zeina and Tony set out to look for the lost child.
