Lucy's Revenge
Synopsis
“La revanche de Lucy” is a comedy in which traditional and modern Africans, out-of-touch white people, ghosts and sorcerers mix and mingle… A presidential couple, Adama and Albertine, are possessed by an evil white spirit. Adama pretends to have forgotten his promise of free elections and Albertine will only dress and eat European style, is bent on whitening her skin and stashes her money in a Swiss bank account. In the land of spirits, four African souls cook up a plot to drive out this evil white spirit.

About
I have travelled so much in Africa that I have become a “white black man” or a “black white man”, depending on your point of view. First of all I directed a series of short films in five different countries, based on works by African writers. With “La revanche de Lucy” I wanted to let others discover this Africa that I love, its humour, thoughts, philosophy, ancestral traditions, colourful language etc... by getting my inspiration from tradition. By reviving the tales. By giving humour the place which Africans give it in their daily life. By exploring the African imagination, where realism and fantasy mix naturally. (Yanusz Mrozowski)
