For the first time in his long career, God the Eternal, the All-Powerful, is displeased with events on Earth and decides to use sound and vision to bring his message to mankind. As soon as the divine script is ready, he plucks up his courage and comes down to earth to look for a director worthy of filming his masterpiece. His first landfall, somewhere in California, turns sour. Then he remembers an old love affair and his thoughts turn to France.

About
I see this film mainly as a fable and a parable about artistic endeavor, the difficulty of defending your work and making it exist for yourself and for others, whether you’re a musician, a painter, a dancer or a writer. About the art of cinema itself, I’d quote Henri Langlois: “Cinema is light in darkness.” (Arthur Joffé)
