Synopsis
Ivan and Serge head down to Aurillac, their home town, to stay with Ivan’s sister, Maryse. To make a bit of money, they take part in a series of dance contests along the way. They’re looking forward to meeting up with their good old buddy, Maxence. Apparently Maxence has a plan. He says they’re all going to make a packet. On the way down, they spend several nights sleeping in the car — until Richard, a young robber on the run, hijacks the car and takes them hostage.

About
I wanted to explore the friendship of a group of male characters who haven’t grown out of their teens. Mathieu Amaric is a friend of mine. It was a sort of bet to pass him off as a high class dancer. Michel Vuillermoz was a complete discovery. In a way, these professional dancers do the same job as a film-maker: they go from town to town the way we go from film to film. But the dance story and the hold-up are just subplots; the real theme of the movie is friendship. Sylvain Monod (excerpt from an article in “l’Est Républicain”, 7 May 1998)
