    About

"For me, the whole film is based on one simple observation : while adultery is a sexual luxury for men, women have to make up something to cling to and imagine that they are in love. Women make a big deal about adultery in particular and sexual relations in general. Why bring in feelings at all costs, the beatings of the heart, when it's simply a matter of fulfilling a much simpler need ? There's a sort of subconscious female hypocrisy at work here. A way of making oneself innocent of the deed by making it much more important than it actually is. The pleasure taken and given could suffice... There are of course men who fall in love, but even if they do, they move on to something else once the relationship has been consummated. Men always manage to work things out so that nothing is taken from them. Or if woman does manage to take something from a man, she takes everything, like a praying mantis."
