Synopsis
The South of France - Autumn 1654. Eloïse is a boarder in the convent to which her illustrious father had earlier entrusted her and, of course, her young blood courses with honor, loyalty , love for the poor and a lust of life. She watches helplessly as the Mother Superior is put to death for trying to protect a desperate slave on the run from the clutches of the odious Duc de Crassac and his evil muse, the Woman in Red. Very much her father's daughter, Eloïse is overcome with anger. A passionate, romantic young woman, full of the spirit of adventure, she suspects the killing to be part of a murky plot against the future King Louis, a plot to which she thinks she has the key. Determined to avenge her adopted mother's death, she takes the road straight to Paris, finds her father and tries to convince him that the Crown is in danger. But despite the support of Quentin the Miserable, a poet who has fallen instantly and hopelessly in love with the young lady, D'Artagnan remains deaf to her pleas. The hero is worn out and, weighed down by having been banished from the court in disgrace, he is indiffrent to the threat to the throne. So Eloïse decides to set off on the adventure...
