Synopsis
The story begins on mrs Tummler's birthday. Somewhere on the shores of Lake Geneva, admidst the nature that has always brought her a secret influx of health and lust for life. Born in spring, daughter of the month of May, the passing years haven't diminished the brightness and radiance of her beauty. The intermittent presence of Ken Keaton, a young American and her son Edouard's teacher, seems to have a lot to do with her lust for life. Anna, her daughter and eternal confidante, still hasn't had the right to a maternal confession. One summer afternoon, as they walk, Mrs Tummler becomes aware of emotion she feels on seeing the young American naked. she interprets this vision as a sign sent by Nature, the good and generous Nature that she loves. Is the latter giving her reprieve ?
