Daniel Leconte follows in real time this highly unusual trial, wanting to decipher, with key figures, the political stakes at the international, idealogical and media level. Lawyers, witnesses, media, editorial conferences, support demonstrations come into play. Just as do the attitudes of intellectuals and politicians, and the reactions of protest and accusation from Muslim countries. It is a reflection on Islam, the press, and the state of opinion in French society, but also an attempt to respond to the challenges of fundamentalism to all democracies.
