This year's French Film Season in Stockholm and Copenhagen has opened its doors, with screenings held from February to May.
The quality and diversity of current French film production have successfully won over audiences from February to May at the French Film Seasons in Stockholm and Copenhagen. Hopes are high that the 5th Season will attract packed houses, as was the case for the three previous editions, and will strike a chord with Scandinavian distributors and the media. For the event's 5th time around, 14 films will be presented in preview screenings or on exclusive release in the legendary Zita and Grand Teatret cinemas, from February 14 through May 18, 2006.
Swedish audiences will thus be able to discover a selection of titles prior to their theatrical release: "Go, See, and Become" (aka "Live & Become") by Radu Mihaileanu (Atlantic Film), "Lemming" by Dominik Moll (NonStop Entertainment) and "The Little Lieutenant" by Xavier Beauvois (Triangelfilm); and Danish spectators will have the chance to see "Intimate Strangers" by Patrice Leconte and "Hidden" by Michael Haneke (Camera Film).

The 5th French Film Season is organized and programmed by Christophe Louis at the French Embassy in Sweden, in collaboration with Wanda Bendjalloul (Zita Cinema) in Stockholm; and with Lone Garde (French Embassy in Denmark) and Kirsten Dalgaard (Grand Teatret Cinema) in Copenhagen. The event is organized through negotiations with Scandinavian distributors and French exports, and is sponsored by Unifrance and Air France.
