The honorary patrons of this edition were Sophie Marceau, and Chinese actor Jiang Wen.
This edition drew a total of 25,236 spectators and generated more than CNY1.70 million (€218,424) in box office revenues, with an attendance rate of 41%. Admissions were up 22% compared to 2025 (20,697 admissions with a 35% attendance rate), and box office revenues were up 15% compared to 2025 (CNY1.48 million).
All 11 feature films screened at Panorama 2026 have Chinese rights holders and distributors. The films’ reception by local audiences offers hope that they will continue their run in China in theaters, on VOD, or on television.

As was the case last year, film censorship was carried out by the Central Film Administration in collaboration with the Chinese Cinémathèque, which was responsible for censoring film content across all cities. The 11 films were authorized to be screened three times in each of the 10 participating cities, at the 18 partner theaters.
Sophie Marceau was present for the opening on March 25 in Beijing, where she spoke with the audience about L'Homme de Chevet (Cartagena). Meanwhile, Valentine Cadic (accompanied by sound engineer Louis Beaufort), presented That Summer in Paris in Beijing and then in Shanghai, and signed numerous autographs during special sessions.
Shanghai set the Panorama’s attendance record (4,668 viewers and a seat occupancy rate of nearly 79%!), followed by Beijing (2,994 viewers and an attendance rate of nearly 60%).
The film that drew the most viewers—across all cities—was That Summer in Paris (5,206 viewers), followed by Case 137 (3,437 viewers).
