The season of professional academy awards is already well underway and French animated works are multiplying nominations and awards.
Most of these nominations and awards go to the multi-award winning documentary Flee(photo) by Jonas Poher Rasmussen, a Danish-French coproduction by MostFilm, Mer Film, Final Cut For Real, and Vivement Lundi !:
- Flee received the Gotham Award for Best Documentary, and the European Animated Feature Film and European Documentary Awards at the European Film Awards, where it also received the European University Film Award.
- Flee was nominated at the Golden Globes 2022, accompanied by My Sunny Maad by Michaela Pavlátová.
- In the coming months, Flee will be in the running for the Lux Audience Awards, announced on June 8, and the film has also been nominated in two BAFTA categories: Documentary and Animated Film.
- Although animated feature films nominated for the 94th Oscars won't be announced until February 8, Flee has already been presented by Denmark in the International Feature and Documentary Feature categories.

- The Académie des Lumières had nominated Pil, Dragon Princess, The Crossing, Around the World in 80 Days, and The Summit of the Gods in the Animated Film category. The Summit of the Gods was also in the running for the Lumière for Best Music. The film ultimately won the Lumière for Best Animated Film during the ceremony on January 17.
